Recorded December 2001 - The logo is the same, just not in you face anymore, seriously.  During the summer low season (that's January down here) 10 ran a "Summer Of Love" promotion type ident featuring all of their stars enjoying themselves on holiday.  This ident ran alongside it.  The second file is now shown at the end of Channel 10 programming.

The very latest Network Ten Logo, new for November 1999. A gold border to the ten circle is the basic change. The sign on the roof of the Channel Ten building in Sydney was changed on the same weekend when this new logo was introduced. A very uniform change. New fonts, new promos and new "twisty" style (return from advert. caption) all accompanied the logo change. There are several variations, the one presented here will give you the idea.

Melrose Place, Sinefeld, Mad About You and The X Files were all Cannel 10 shows, and it suffered a bit since they ended. This ident for Channel Ten was seen in the last week of January 1999. It was used before the season premier of "Melrose Place", and I have not seen it since. Short, loud and catchy - it should have been used more I think. The words to the music are "Turn Me On Ten".

These are captures from the Channel 10 idents used during 1998. The RealVideos of this is made up of three sections. A short program signpost - then the ident - then the Ten Sports ident. Sorry about the files being a bit big but it's the only way to get detail on a long clip.

Here are captures from the last "standard" ident Ten used until the beginning of 1998. When I say standard, I mean a catchy jingle, and an animation which resolves to the logo. The ident above this one with the Sports logo included, used funky noise instead of a jingle, with the logo flashed in-between scenes from Channel 10 shows.  1997

This logo was used around the end of 1996. Like the Seven Network, Ten have tinkered around with different idents while keeping their logo the same. The letters were used to represent "The Entertainment Network" in the early 1990s. I didn't think much of this logo at the time, but looking back on it I begin to think more kindly of it. It's almost cool !

Never bettered, this ident was the first Channel 10 ident I ever saw, back in 1991. Featuring a map of Australia similar to the Nine logo of the same era, this logo implies that the name Ten is an acronim for The Entertainment Network, but really the station is received on channel ten in most capital cities. Apart from the music which stays in the mind long after hearing it, the three letters in the picture on the left (the pics are out of sequence by the way) rotated to spell "net" for network and "ent" for entertainment before resolving to "ten".

155kb     Two of the various versions of this 10 logo are seen on either side above, with a promo clip in the centre. A third version had the city of origin below the logo. This was the last of logos used during 10's hey day before rationalisation chopped out many of the home produced shows. Good logo, good ident.

You will need to have RealPlayer to play the above movies.
